The summer isn't over. On wednesday, august 20th, prepare for an incredible evening with l'altruist supporting the New Sudan Education Initiative, dedicated to building secondary schools in Southern Sudan.

Hosted at Glass Lounge in west chelsea from 7-11pm, l'altruist presents a sexy cultural soiree complete with a photo exhibit exhibiting the diversity of Southern Sudan, a silent auction of Southern Sudanese handmade goods, and as always, stellar company.

The Event: Amal for ALIF
This Friday, April 4th, join L'Altruist for an evening of chic altruism. Amal, meaning 'hope', will be held at France Origine (FR.OG), a sophisticated, sexy lounge in Soho, with all proceeds benefiting ALIF (see below for more information). Fr.OG evokes the charm & swankyness of its patrons, and DJ Moma will be spinning the best in current & classic R&B, hip-hop, and international beats to set the perfect mood.

The Cause: ALIF
With the mission 'to Enhance Humanity One Life at a Time', ALIF aids orphans and children of sex workers in Ethiopia by providing them with the opportunity of education and protection. Founded by Columbia graduate Nasir Al-Amin, ALIF provides approximately 58 orphans and children of sex workers with the following services: educational assistance and sponsorship, uniforms & school supplies, and rent stipends for homeless orphans and mothers with children. All funds from this event directly go to the above mentioned initiatives as the ALIF staff is unpaid. Additional information about ALIF can be found on their website http://www.alif.us/
